Course Description

Course Information:
 
Students will keep a weekly journal over new skills, things they have observed and their overall takeaways from their experience on the job, this journal will be checked at the end of class the following week. Also, students will be required to document their hours and pay, which will also be kept on file in the journal.

Grading Policy-

50% Assessment and Evaluation

  • A student may retake tests within two (2) class days of being notified of the failing test/quiz for up to a grade of 70 IF they have first met with the teacher for a tutorial session.
  • It is at the discretion of the teacher as to whether the student will retake the test/quiz during the designated time either before school, break, lunch or afterschool.
  • Special Projects are due when specified by the teacher. There will be no corrections or retakes for special projects - the grade will be recorded as the final grade.


50% weekly journals and scenarios 

    • All assignments are due when specified by the teacher.
    • Corrections -
      Students will NOT be allowed to correct daily work including class work, homework, etc.
  • Late work –
    • 1 Day Late:   10 pts off or 10%
    • 2 Days Late: 20 pts off or 20%
    • 3 Days Late:   30 pts off or 30%
    • Grade of “0” will be assessed to any assignment more than 3 days late.

  • Note for high school science classes -
    • Labs will count for 40% of a student’s final grade.
    • A student who fails a science lab assignment may redo the lab within two (2) class days of being notified of the failing grade for up to a grade of 70.
    • A student may redo a lab during the designated time either before school, break, lunch or afterschool.


Minimum 10 daily grades per six week period

Minimum 2 test/project grades per six week period
