My name is Dain Strickland and I am the new high school science teacher here in Abbott. I was born and raised in Monticello, Arkansas. I graduated from the University of Arkansas - Monticello where I received a B.S. in Agriculture - Plant and Soil Science in 2007 and a Master of Arts in Teaching in 2011. I taught in Arkansas for 5 years before moving to Texas.
I have an 12 year old son named Simon and I was finally lucky enough to marry my wife Jennifer in May 2017. Nothing makes me happier than spending quality time with my wife and son. We enjoy traveling, camping, and playing board games together. We also stay active by playing tennis, disc golf, and basketball.
I am very passionate about science and its role in our society. Teaching young people the wonder and excitement of science is critical to their growth as innovators and citizens.
Thank you to the staff that has been so welcoming to me by making me feel at home. Our family looks forward to being a part of, and serving the community in here Abbott!
Please feel free to meet with me during the following times
Monday - Thursday: 2:35 - 3:20
Friday: 2:25 - 3:00
