Mrs. Brittney Hejl
Welcome Parents! My name is Mrs. Brittney Hejl and I am your child's kindergarten teacher! Getting to know your most treasured gift while teaching them the very fundamentals that will propel them into their future is a privilege and gift that I do not take lightly!
While I will have all year to learn about your sweet kiddos, here is a brief tidbit about myself. I grew up and attended Whitney ISD, graduating in 2002. After graduating from MCC in 2005, I became a mother in 2006 and began a 10 year job of stay at home mom. I took the long road toward my teaching career, earning a Bachelors in General Studies in 2018, minoring in child development and family studies from Texas Tech University. While working for the school district of Abbott ISD as a teachers aide, and a few other roles, I began an alternate certification program to become a certified teacher. I have completed the 1st year of the 2 year program earning my Teaching Certificate in the first year, and now teaching kindergarten while I finish out the second year of various professional development classes.
I have been married to Matt "Coach" Hejl for 18 years and we currently have 4 children. My boys are all in high school and my daughter is in Elementary. I have worked for Abbott ISD for 4 years, now starting my 5th, however substitute taught for a few years in all grades prior to becoming full time.
Having the opportunity to step into this kindergarten roll is one that I have hoped for for a very long time! God is perfect in His timing and I am so thankful He saw fit that I would begin this new journey!
